HS Girls Sub-state Basketball. The HS Plainsmen Girls BB team will be hosting a Sub-state game in Oakley on Tuesday, March 3rd against the Trego Community Eagles. The game will start at 6 pm. The admission cost is $8.00 Adults and $6.00 - K-12 students. No passes will be honored. Come support the Girls BB team and see some great basketball. Go Plainsmen!

HS Substate Basketball: The HS Plainsmen Girls Sub-State Basketball game against Ell-Saline Cardinals will be held in Oakley on Thursday, February 26th. Game starts at 6 PM. The admission cost is $8.00 for adults & $6.00 for students. No passes will be accepted.
The HS Plainsmen Boys Sub-State Basketball game against Ell-Saline Cardinals will be held at Brookville on Friday, February 27th. Games starts at 6 pm.

It was an exciting day here at Oakley High School!!! Qualifying for the Rudd Scholarship, a competitive full ride, 4 year collage scholarship was our very own Mary Carmen! We are so happy and proud of you! Congratulations!

Driver's Ed Summer Program: The District will be offering the Summer Driver's Ed Program again this summer. We have given the 8th grade students who qualify due to birthday restrictions and Sophomores who have not taken it their application forms to bring home. We have limited space so please turn is your application forms and decide their driving time. The Oakley students will only have the opportunity to drive during the first 2 weeks of June unless other arrangements have been made with Mr Will Bixenman. HS Pep Band & 6th Mini Pep Band: There will NOT be any High school pep band or 6th Grade mini pep band at the game on Thursday 19th 2026.

HS BB practice: There will be NO HS BB Boys & Girls practice today, February 17th due to the wind/dust conditions. There will be HS wrestling practice tonight. If any parents are concerned about their student driving home at dismissal time of 3:30. Please contact the HS Office at 785-671-3241.

The basketball games scheduled for tonight will be on Thursday at the same time. Thank you.

HS Basketball. The HS basketball games today, February 17th with TMP, Hays have been cancelled and rescheduled until Thursday, February 19th. The games times on Thursday will be the same.

Petting Zoo 2026!

Mrs. Larshus's high school Art 1 students recently made masks on each other's faces. They covered their faces with a piece of plastic wrap with a nose hole in it. Then the students used strips of plaster gauze dipped in water to mold their masks. The students who were getting masked got to spend most of the class period relaxing on a table. Here is an example of a mask that is in the process of being embellished. All students will add a variety of features, embellishments, and paint onto their original mask and turn them into amazing creations!

USD 274 Talent Show on February 10th!

6 Forensics kids traveled to Rexford on Saturday, January 31. Jaya Highland (Impromptu and IDA w/ Madi), Madi Huffman-Burris (Impromptu and IDA w Jaya), Cash Eberle (Impromptu and IDA w MaKenzie), MaKenzie Mizell (IDA w Cash), Jamie Hemken (Prose) and Cam Groom (Poetry).

Jaya and Madi made it to finals in Impromptu. Madi placed 5th and Jaya placed 6th. out of 13. The 2 girls advanced to finals in IDA (Improvised Duet Acting) and placed 3rd out of 9. Missing a trip to state festival by 1 point.

Our next meet is Saturday, February 14 in Norton.
